NYPH’12 is pleased to announce that The all new New York Photo Awards 2012 is now open!
Established in 2008, The New York Photo Awards has attracted exceptional work submitted from over 20,000 photographers and visual artists—over 100,000 images uploaded and reviewed by the top names in the genres of photo Fine Art, Documentary, Advertising, Book publishing, and Multimedia industries in the U.S. and abroad.
The curators of the 2012 edition of the New York Photo Festival—Amy Smith-Stewart, Glenn Ruga, Claude Grunitzky, and DJ Spooky—led a select team of photo industry and art world professionals in choosing the finest examples of works submitted in these categories (including a student level for each) for the inaugural New York Photo Festival Invitational, exhibited at The POWERHOUSE Arena May 16-20 during the Festival.
These same jurors—and more—will select the finalists of The New York Photo Awards 2012 in late August; work chosen in their categories will be printed and mounted by NYPH’12 and exhibited in The POWERHOUSE Arena September 28-30 during the area’s largest annual art event, the Dumbo Arts Festival, regularly attracting hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and visitors over the three day festival.
Winners of The New York Photo Awards 2012 will win prizes never before seen in the history of photo competitions—gallery exhibitions and fine art print production and framing; agency representation; printed book and eBook deals; and exclusive multimedia platform presentations. Take part in history, submit to The New York Photo Awards 2012.
